The Guilin-specific things to watch aren't at the airport but in the city: the 'tea house'/'art student' befriender bill-shock (decline over-friendly strangers' invitations), and Li River cruise/tour touts and overpricing (book the cruise through your hotel or a reputable operator, confirm the boat class and route, and avoid shopping-detour tours). So don't book a 'special' Li River cruise from an airport or station tout — use your hotel or a reputable operator.
