Confirm your ride, keep valuables secured, and you're at the beach quickly. It's a safe, laid-back area; just agree the fare with any taxi, or take the cheap bus/minibus.

For island-hopping (Four Islands, Hong Islands, Phi Phi), book a reputable tour or speedboat/longtail through your hotel or a Krabi operator, wear the provided life vest, and mind belongings and the strong sun on the boats. Don't overpay a random beach tout for a 'private' boat when the set shared rates and organized tours are straightforward and good value; the sea trips are the highlight and are safe with reputable operators.

The airport bus/minibus services are timed to flights but thin out late, so for a late arrival a hotel transfer or the airport taxi (fixed coupon or agreed fare) is simplest for the short ride to Ao Nang. Confirm the fare, keep valuables secured, and head to your accommodation. Krabi is a safe, laid-back area at night, so a late arrival is low-stress.
